Beats has officially launched the Beats 360, a new flagship over-ear headphone designed to combine premium audio with customization and workout-friendly durability.
The headline feature is unusual for a premium headphone: both the ear cushions and headband cushion can be removed and replaced. That lets users change the look, material and feel of the headphones without replacing the entire product.
But the Beats 360 is more than a cosmetic refresh. It introduces Beats’ most advanced Active Noise Cancellation system yet, an IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating, up to 32 hours of battery life and support for both Apple and Android devices.
Beats 360: What’s new?

The Beats 360 is positioned as the company’s flagship over-ear headphone. It has a new acoustic platform with custom-designed drivers, improved noise cancellation and a redesigned fit intended to remain comfortable and stable during extended use.
Its most distinctive feature is the interchangeable cushion system.
The headphones ship with Performance Knit cushions, which use memory foam wrapped in breathable fabric. Users can purchase additional cushion kits and switch both the ear cushions and headband cushion.
Beats also offers UltraPlush cushions, which use memory foam covered in engineered leather for a softer, more traditional over-ear feel.
This modular approach also has a practical benefit. Users who exercise with the headphones can keep an extra set of cushions available and swap them after a workout.
IPX4 makes Beats 360 workout-friendly
The Beats 360 is the first Beats over-ear headphone with an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance.
That rating makes the headphones more suitable for workouts, outdoor walking and other activities where they may encounter sweat or water splashes. It does not mean the headphones are waterproof or designed to be submerged.
The removable cushions also make cleaning and replacement more practical than with conventional fixed ear pads.
Beats is clearly targeting people who want the comfort and soundstage of over-ear headphones without having to keep them away from the gym.
Active Noise Cancellation gets a major upgrade
Noise cancellation is another major focus.
Beats says the Beats 360 delivers up to 1.75 times more total noise cancellation than the Beats Studio Pro. The system uses eight microphones to monitor the environment and the acoustic conditions around the headphones.
There is also a Transparency mode for hearing surrounding sounds without removing the headphones.
When ANC and Transparency mode are disabled, Adaptive EQ can continuously adjust the sound.
One interesting detail is that Beats 360 can detect which cushion material is installed and automatically adjust its acoustic tuning and noise-cancellation filtering. That matters because different cushion materials can change the seal around the ears and therefore affect how headphones sound.
Up to 32 hours of battery life
Battery life is rated at up to 32 hours of playback with ANC enabled.
The headphones also support Beats’ Fast Fuel charging system. A five-minute charge can provide up to one hour of playback, which is useful when the battery is nearly empty before a commute or workout.
The headphones charge over USB-C.
Apple and Android support
Despite being part of Apple’s Beats ecosystem, the Beats 360 is not limited to iPhone users.
Apple users get features including one-touch pairing, Automatic Switching, Audio Sharing, Find My support and Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking.
Android users get Fast Pair, Audio Switch and Find Hub support. Beats uses its own custom chip and Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity across both platforms.
That cross-platform approach remains one of the more useful aspects of Beats headphones for consumers who don’t want to commit to a single smartphone ecosystem.
Beats 360 price and availability

The Beats 360 is priced at $349.99 in the US.
In India, the headphones cost ₹42,900 and are available in four core colours: Black, Cloud, Pink and Sky. Orders opened on September 22, with retail availability beginning September 24.
Additional cushion kits are available separately. Performance Knit kits come in six colours, while UltraPlush kits are available in two colours. Standard US pricing for the kits is $49.99, although Beats is offering a limited introductory price in select markets.

Is Beats 360 replacing Studio Pro?
No. The Beats 360 sits above the Studio Pro rather than simply replacing it.
The Studio Pro remains in the lineup at a lower price, while Beats is positioning the 360 as its new flagship over-ear model. That gives buyers a choice between a more affordable established design and the newer Beats 360 with interchangeable cushions, enhanced ANC and IPX4 resistance.
The bigger idea behind Beats 360
The Beats 360 is interesting because customization is being treated as part of the hardware rather than simply a colour choice at checkout.
A traditional headphone purchase locks users into one cushion material and appearance. Beats is separating those elements from the main headphone, allowing the same device to be configured differently for workouts, travel or everyday listening.
The IPX4 rating reinforces that strategy. Beats isn’t positioning the 360 purely as a desk or travel headphone. It is designed to be used across more parts of the day, including active situations.
With strong ANC, long battery life, spatial audio and support for both major mobile ecosystems, the Beats 360 is also trying to compete as a serious premium wireless headphone rather than relying entirely on its distinctive styling.
