OnePlus has launched the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro in China, expanding its performance-focused smartphone lineup with two devices designed primarily for mobile gaming and demanding users. The new smartphones combine high-refresh-rate OLED displays, powerful Snapdragon processors, dedicated cooling systems and exceptionally large batteries.
The biggest highlight of the OnePlus Ace 7 series is its built-in active cooling fan, designed to keep temperatures under control during extended gaming sessions. Both phones also feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED display with a native refresh rate of up to 165Hz and an enhanced 185Hz mode for supported games.
The standard Ace 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series chipset, while the Ace 7 Pro gets the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Both models pack a 200MP primary camera and a 9,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging.

185Hz OLED Display Designed for Gaming
The OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro feature a 6.78-inch flat f-OLED display developed in collaboration with BOE. The panel offers a 1.5K resolution of 2772 x 1272 pixels and supports a native refresh rate of up to 165Hz.
For supported games, the refresh rate can reach 185Hz through an enhanced gaming mode. This allows compatible titles to deliver smoother animations and more responsive visual feedback.
The display also supports up to 3,840Hz PWM dimming, which is designed to improve viewing comfort in low-light conditions. OnePlus has incorporated its Super Display Chip P4 to manage display performance and help maintain smooth visuals.
The combination of a high refresh rate, dedicated display processing and fast touch response makes the phones particularly appealing to competitive mobile gamers.
However, the 185Hz mode is not available universally across all applications. Regular system navigation and supported everyday apps operate at up to 165Hz.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Processors
Performance is another major difference between the two smartphones.
The OnePlus Ace 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series chipset, while the Ace 7 Pro features the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform.
Both processors are manufactured using a 3nm process and are paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
The standard model is designed to offer strong flagship-level performance, while the Pro variant targets users who want additional processing and graphics capabilities for demanding games and applications.
OnePlus has also included dedicated gaming hardware, including its touch and display processing chips, to improve responsiveness during gameplay.
The phones run Android 17 with ColorOS 17 in China. The software includes AI-powered tools and gaming-related features intended to improve the overall user experience.
Built-In Active Cooling Fan Keeps Temperatures Under Control
The built-in cooling fan is one of the most unusual features of the OnePlus Ace 7 series.
Both smartphones feature an active cooling system alongside a large 6,350mm² vapour chamber. The fan moves air through dedicated channels to help dissipate heat generated by the processor during intensive gaming sessions.
OnePlus calls its solution the Ice River dual-channel cooling system. It uses separate airflow paths to direct cooling towards the chipset and other internal components while also helping reduce heat around the rear panel.
The system is designed to maintain more consistent performance during extended gaming sessions, reducing the likelihood of thermal throttling.
According to OnePlus, the cooling setup can lower chipset temperatures by up to 10 degrees Celsius under its specified gaming test conditions.
The company has also worked on reducing fan noise and improving dust resistance. This is important because smartphones with active cooling need to balance airflow, temperature management and everyday usability.
Despite the presence of a physical fan, both models carry multiple dust and water resistance ratings, including IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K.

200MP Camera With Different Secondary Sensors
Photography is another area where the two models differ.
Both smartphones feature a 200MP Samsung HP5 primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation. The large-resolution sensor is designed to capture detailed images while OIS helps reduce blur caused by hand movement.
The standard OnePlus Ace 7 includes an additional 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 112-degree field of view. It is useful for landscapes, architecture and group photography.
The Ace 7 Pro replaces the ultra-wide camera with a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor featuring 3.5x optical zoom. This gives the Pro model greater flexibility when photographing distant subjects and capturing zoomed-in portraits.
Both smartphones feature a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The Ace 7 Pro also offers advanced video capabilities, including 4K recording at up to 120fps and 8K recording at 30fps. It supports a Log video profile for users who want additional flexibility during colour grading and post-production.
Massive 9,000mAh Battery With 100W Charging
Battery capacity is another major highlight of the new OnePlus smartphones.
Both the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro pack a 9,000mAh battery, significantly larger than the batteries found in many conventional flagship smartphones.
The devices support 100W wired SuperVOOC fast charging, allowing users to recharge the large battery using a compatible charger.
They also support 27W wired reverse charging, which can be useful for powering accessories and other compatible devices.
For gamers, OnePlus has included bypass charging. This feature allows power to be supplied directly to the phone’s system during supported gaming sessions rather than continuously charging the battery.
By reducing battery charging activity while playing, bypass charging can help manage heat and reduce battery stress during extended gaming.
Design, Connectivity and Other Features
The OnePlus Ace 7 series features a metal-clad frame and a glass-fibre-reinforced plastic rear panel. Both smartphones include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers.
Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and an infrared blaster.
The phones also support dual SIM functionality and USB Type-C connectivity.
The Ace 7 Pro is available in Black, White and Blue finishes, while the standard Ace 7 also comes in multiple colour options.
Despite the additional cooling hardware, OnePlus has kept the thickness relatively controlled. The standard black and white finishes measure approximately 8.5mm, while certain other colour variants are slightly thicker.
OnePlus Ace 7 vs Ace 7 Pro: What’s the Difference?
The two smartphones share most of their core hardware, including the display, battery, charging technology and primary camera.
The main differences are the processor and secondary camera system.
The standard Ace 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series chipset and features an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The Ace 7 Pro gets the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.
The Pro model also offers a higher maximum storage configuration of 1TB.
Should You Wait for the OnePlus Ace 7 Series in India?
The OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro bring several interesting features to the gaming smartphone category. Their 185Hz gaming refresh rate, active cooling fan, flagship Snapdragon processors and 9,000mAh batteries make them particularly appealing to users who prioritise sustained performance.
The Ace 7 Pro is the more capable option for users who want stronger graphics performance and a dedicated periscope camera. The standard Ace 7 could be a more affordable alternative while retaining most of the important gaming features.
However, OnePlus has not confirmed an Indian launch for either smartphone. There is speculation about a possible international rebranding within the OnePlus R series, but buyers should wait for an official announcement.
Overall, the Ace 7 series represents an interesting combination of gaming-focused hardware, advanced cooling and long battery life. Its eventual appeal in India will depend heavily on local pricing and availability.
