Nothing Headphone (1) Pro Launched With Triple Drivers, Improved ANC and Premium Design

Nothing has officially expanded its premium audio lineup with the launch of the Headphone (1) Pro, a new pair of over-ear wireless headphones designed to deliver a more detailed listening experience than the company’s original Headphone (1).

The new model keeps Nothing’s recognizable transparent design language but brings several significant hardware upgrades. The biggest change is hidden inside the earcups: the Nothing Headphone (1) Pro features a triple-driver audio system, with separate drivers handling bass, midrange and high frequencies.

Nothing has also upgraded active noise cancellation, added more advanced sound customization and switched to more premium materials, including aluminium, titanium and scratch-resistant glass. The headphones are priced at $399 in the US.

Nothing Headphone (1) Pro: What’s New?

The Headphone (1) Pro is positioned above the original Headphone (1), and Nothing has made several changes to justify the Pro branding.

Instead of relying on a single driver in each earcup, the new headphones use three different drivers. There’s a 40mm dynamic driver for bass, a dedicated precision driver for the midrange and an xMEMS driver for treble.

The idea is straightforward: by giving different parts of the frequency range their own hardware, Nothing can better control how music is reproduced.

The company says the new setup is designed to deliver deeper bass, more textured vocals and clearer instruments. The treble driver uses silicon-based xMEMS technology, which is designed to produce faster responses at higher frequencies.

Triple-Driver Setup Is the Main Highlight

The triple-driver architecture is easily the most notable upgrade on the Nothing Headphone (1) Pro.

The 40mm bass driver is designed to handle the lower frequencies, while the precision driver focuses on vocals and other midrange sounds. The third xMEMS driver takes care of high-frequency detail.

Nothing says the bass driver also gets a dual-magnetic system that provides 15% more punch and 26% higher sensitivity, while its PET dome with a metal-ceramic coating is designed to reduce distortion at higher volumes.

The precision driver uses a PEN diaphragm, which Nothing says improves vocal texture and articulation. Meanwhile, the xMEMS driver uses a silicon diaphragm that is significantly stiffer than conventional plastic designs.

For listeners who enjoy experimenting with their sound, the Nothing X app provides an advanced EQ system that allows users to adjust the sound profile in greater detail.

Improved ANC With 10 Microphones

Noise cancellation has also received a substantial upgrade.

The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro uses 10 microphones as part of its active noise cancellation system. Nothing says the setup can provide up to 46dB of ANC, compared with 42dB on the previous Headphone (1).

The headphones use adaptive ANC, meaning the system can adjust its noise cancellation based on the surrounding environment and how the earcups fit.

Nothing has also introduced a redesigned sound seal. The company says the new 8mm silicone baffle wall helps block external noise, while a dual-layer cushion system provides additional isolation.

This should make the Headphone (1) Pro particularly useful in environments such as airplanes, offices, trains and busy streets.

Premium Materials With Nothing’s Transparent Design

Despite the hardware changes, Nothing hasn’t abandoned the transparent design that has become a signature of its products.

The Headphone (1) Pro combines aluminium, titanium and 9H Panda Glass. Transparent sections on the earcups provide a look at some of the internal hardware, including parts of the triple-driver architecture.

The titanium alloy arms are also lighter than the previous design. The complete headphones weigh around 327 grams, according to reports.

Nothing has additionally focused on comfort. The new ear cushions are claimed to be 50% softer, while the headband is wider and has thicker padding. The company says the changes are intended to reduce pressure and make the headphones more comfortable for longer listening sessions.

Up to 68 Hours of Battery Life

Battery life remains an important part of the Headphone (1) Pro package.

Nothing claims up to 68 hours of playback with ANC switched off. With active noise cancellation enabled, the company rates the headphones for up to 30 hours of playback. LDAC reduces the figures further, with up to 53 hours with ANC off and 28 hours with ANC on.

Fast charging is also supported. A five-minute charge can reportedly provide up to four hours of listening time.

The difference between ANC-on and ANC-off battery life is worth keeping in mind, particularly for users who plan to keep noise cancellation enabled throughout the day.

Advanced Audio Features

Nothing is targeting more than casual music listeners with the Headphone (1) Pro.

The headphones support LDAC and Hi-Res Audio, while wired listening is available through USB-C and a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Headphone (1) Pro also includes spatial audio with optional head tracking. Nothing has worked with Metropolis Studios on the audio experience, and the headphones include a Flat EQ mode designed to provide a more neutral sound profile.

Users can also make detailed adjustments through the Nothing X application, including personalized sound settings and EQ controls.

Another notable addition is Auracast, which expands the headphones’ wireless audio capabilities.

Bluetooth 6.1 and Multipoint Connectivity

On the connectivity front, the Headphone (1) Pro supports Bluetooth 6.1, along with multipoint connectivity.

That means users can connect the headphones to multiple devices and switch between them more conveniently.

The combination of Bluetooth, USB-C and 3.5mm connectivity gives users plenty of flexibility, whether they’re listening wirelessly from a phone or using the headphones with another device through a wired connection.

Nothing Headphone (1) Pro Price and Availability

The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is priced at $399 in the United States. It is available in Black and White finishes.

The headphones are being positioned as Nothing’s premium over-ear offering, sitting above the company’s more affordable audio products.

Availability begins from September 29, with Nothing selling the headphones through its own channels and selected retailers in markets including North America.

An India-specific price and availability should be confirmed separately by Nothing for the Indian market.

Nothing Headphone (1) Pro: First Look at the Upgrade

The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro represents a significant hardware step forward from the company’s first over-ear headphones.

The triple-driver system is the biggest change, but it isn’t the only one. Nothing has also improved ANC, redesigned the ear cushions, introduced more premium materials and added more control over how the headphones sound.

The 10-microphone ANC system, 46dB noise cancellation, xMEMS treble driver, advanced EQ and spatial audio give the Headphone (1) Pro a much more ambitious feature set than a typical wireless headphone.

At $399, Nothing is entering a competitive premium headphone segment where established brands already offer sophisticated ANC and high-resolution audio. That makes the company’s focus on triple-driver audio and customization particularly important.

For Nothing, the Headphone (1) Pro is more than an updated version of its first headphones. It is an attempt to push the brand further into premium audio while retaining the distinctive design that made its original products stand out.

The real test will come from long-term listening and independent testing, particularly around sound quality, ANC performance and comfort. For now, the specifications show that Nothing has made substantial changes both inside and outside the earcups.
