Apple’s upcoming HomePod mini 2 has reportedly appeared in Apple’s own software assets, giving us the clearest look yet at the company’s next-generation compact smart speaker. The leaked images suggest that Apple will retain the familiar HomePod mini design while introducing new color options.
According to MacRumors, Apple code discovered by contributor Aaron Perris includes product images that specifically reference a HomePod mini 2. The images show the speaker in five colors: black, blue, green, pink and white. The current orange and yellow finishes appear to be replaced by the new green and pink options.
HomePod mini 2 Design Appears Unchanged
The leaked images suggest that Apple is not planning a major external redesign for the HomePod mini 2. The speaker retains the familiar compact spherical shape and mesh-covered exterior of the original model.
That would allow Apple to focus on internal improvements while maintaining a design that already fits into Apple’s wider Home ecosystem.
The current HomePod mini has been available since 2020 and remains priced at $99 in the US, while Apple’s India store currently lists it at ₹15,900. Apple has not revealed pricing for the rumored second-generation model.
New Colors Could Be the Biggest Visible Change
Based on the leaked imagery, the HomePod mini 2 could launch in five finishes: black, blue, green, pink and white.
The addition of green and pink would give the refreshed speaker a different color lineup from the current generation. However, the images do not confirm whether these will be the final colors available when Apple officially announces the product.
HomePod mini 2 Could Arrive With Siri AI
The timing of the leak is particularly interesting because Apple has now launched its next-generation Siri AI as part of its latest software releases.
Apple says Siri AI brings capabilities including personal context understanding, broader world knowledge, onscreen awareness and additional systemwide actions.
Reports have previously suggested that Apple’s new smart-home products could be closely connected to its upgraded Siri experience. However, Apple has not confirmed which specific Siri AI capabilities will be available on the HomePod mini 2.
Launch Date and Price Still Unconfirmed
Apple has not officially announced the HomePod mini 2, so its launch date and pricing remain unknown.
Recent reports suggest Apple could introduce the new HomePod mini alongside other smart-home products, including a new Apple TV 4K, potentially during an October product announcement. MacRumors notes that October is a common period for Apple product announcements, but there is no confirmed launch date at this stage.
For now, the leaked Apple imagery provides the strongest indication that the HomePod mini 2 exists and that Apple is preparing a refreshed version of its compact smart speaker.
