vivo has officially launched the vivo V80 5G in India, bringing a combination of premium cameras, a large 7,200mAh battery and a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display to its V-series lineup. The new smartphone also becomes one of the first vivo phones to ship with Android 17-based OriginOS 7 out of the box.
The vivo V80 is aimed at users who want a strong camera experience without giving up battery life. It features a ZEISS-backed triple-camera system, a 50MP selfie camera, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 performance and 90W fast charging.
Despite packing a much larger battery, vivo has kept the phone relatively slim at around 7.7mm. The handset is available in three finishes and comes in three storage configurations in India.
vivo V80 Price in India
The vivo V80 price in India starts at ₹62,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.
The other configurations are priced as follows:
- 8GB + 128GB: ₹62,999
- 8GB + 256GB: ₹69,999
- 8GB + 512GB: ₹79,999
The phone is available in Horizon Blue, Stellar Black and Sunrise Anthem color options.
The 512GB version gives buyers plenty of room for photos, 4K videos, games and large applications, although there is no microSD card slot for further expansion.
6.59-Inch 144Hz AMOLED Display
One of the standout features of the vivo V80 is its display.
The smartphone comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel offering a 2,750 x 1,260-pixel resolution and up to a 144Hz refresh rate. The display supports HDR10+ and 1.07 billion colors, making it well suited for streaming, gaming and everyday scrolling.
Brightness is another major highlight. The panel can reach up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, while its high-brightness mode reaches 1,800 nits. This should make outdoor visibility considerably better than on conventional smartphone displays.
The 144Hz mode can also make animations and scrolling feel noticeably smoother. Interestingly, the highest refresh rate is particularly useful for compatible games, while the phone can dynamically switch between different refresh rates depending on the task.
vivo has also used very slim bezels around the screen, giving the V80 a more premium appearance.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Powers the vivo V80
Under the hood, the vivo V80 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset.
The 4nm processor is paired with 8GB of RAM, while storage options range from 128GB to 512GB. The higher-capacity versions use faster UFS storage, giving the phone better performance when installing applications, transferring files and loading large games.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 isn’t positioned as a flagship-level processor, but it should provide enough performance for demanding everyday tasks, photography, social media, multitasking and gaming.
vivo has also included its software-based performance optimizations to help the phone maintain smooth operation over extended use.
7,200mAh Battery Is a Major Upgrade
Battery capacity is arguably one of the biggest selling points of the vivo V80.
The phone packs a 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is larger than the 6,500mAh battery found in the previous V70. That increase should give the V80 a clear advantage for users who spend long hours watching videos, playing games, using cameras or browsing on mobile data.
The battery supports 90W wired charging. vivo claims the phone can reach 50% charge in around 30 minutes under its specified fast-charging conditions.
The V80 also supports bypass charging, which can help reduce battery stress during gaming by supplying power more directly to the phone rather than continuously charging the battery.
In practical terms, the combination of a 7,200mAh battery and 90W charging makes the V80 one of the more interesting options for buyers who put battery life high on their priority list.
ZEISS Triple Camera Setup

Photography remains a major focus of the V-series, and the vivo V80 continues that approach with a ZEISS-backed triple-camera system.
The primary camera uses a 50MP Sony LYT700V sensor with optical image stabilization and autofocus. OIS should help reduce camera shake when shooting handheld photographs, particularly in darker environments.
The main camera also supports 4K video recording at up to 60fps, along with cinematic video features.
The second camera is a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto sensor with OIS and a 3x optical zoom capability. This gives the V80 a significant advantage for portraits and distant subjects compared with smartphones that rely solely on digital zoom.
Completing the rear camera setup is an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 110-degree field of view.
While the ultra-wide sensor has a lower resolution than the primary and telephoto cameras, it provides a useful wider perspective for landscapes, architecture and group photographs.
50MP ZEISS Selfie Camera
On the front, the vivo V80 gets a 50MP autofocus selfie camera.
The high-resolution sensor is designed to capture detailed portraits and selfies, while autofocus allows the camera to maintain focus more reliably when the subject moves closer or farther from the phone.
The front camera also supports 4K video recording, making the V80 suitable for users who frequently create video content for social media.
vivo is also bringing AI-based photography tools to the phone, including India-focused features designed around festive photography.
First V-Series Phone With OriginOS 7
The vivo V80 arrives with Android 17-based OriginOS 7.
That makes it the first V-series smartphone to ship with OriginOS 7 out of the box. The software brings a redesigned interface, smoother animations, AI features and a range of productivity improvements.
vivo is also promising long-term software support. The V80 is set to receive four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
The company says security updates will follow a staged schedule, with more frequent updates during the initial years and longer intervals later in the support period.
For buyers planning to keep the phone for several years, this software commitment could be just as important as the hardware specifications.
Premium Build and Water Resistance
Despite its large battery, the vivo V80 maintains a relatively slim profile.
The phone measures roughly 7.7mm thick and weighs around 203–210 grams depending on the specification reference. It features a glass front and back with an aluminum frame, giving it a more premium feel than many battery-focused smartphones.
The smartphone also comes with IP68 and IP69 protection against dust and water. This gives the V80 additional protection against water exposure and high-pressure water jets.
An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is built into the display, while connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and eSIM support.
vivo V80 Colors

The vivo V80 is available in three colors in India:
- Horizon Blue
- Stellar Black
- Sunrise Anthem
The different finishes give the phone a mix of conventional and more distinctive styling options.
The Stellar Black variant is likely to appeal to buyers who prefer a traditional premium look, while Horizon Blue and Sunrise Anthem offer a more noticeable design.

Is the vivo V80 Worth Buying?
The vivo V80 looks like a well-rounded option for users who want a premium-looking smartphone without moving into the highest flagship price bracket.
Its biggest strengths are the 7,200mAh battery, 90W charging, ZEISS camera system, 144Hz AMOLED display and long software-support promise.
The 50MP telephoto camera is also an important addition, especially for users who regularly take portraits or zoomed-in photographs.
However, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is not the newest high-end processor available, so performance-focused buyers may find more powerful alternatives in this price range.
For photography enthusiasts and users who value battery life, though, the vivo V80 has a compelling package.
Final Verdict
The vivo V80 5G is an ambitious addition to vivo’s V-series lineup. It combines a large 7,200mAh battery with 90W charging, a bright 144Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 performance and a versatile ZEISS-backed camera setup.
The phone also gets an important software upgrade with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, along with a promise of four Android upgrades and six years of security updates.
With a starting price of ₹62,999 in India, the vivo V80 sits firmly in the premium smartphone segment. Its biggest appeal will likely be to buyers who want strong cameras and long battery life without sacrificing a slim design and high-quality display.
