REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ Launched With 185Hz OLED Display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and 8,400mAh Battery
REDMAGIC has launched its new gaming flagship, the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+, in China, introducing major upgrades aimed at mobile gamers and esports enthusiasts. The smartphone combines a 185Hz OLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, an advanced air and liquid cooling system, and a massive 8,400mAh battery.
The new model also features dedicated gaming shoulder triggers, up to 16GB of RAM in standard configurations, and support for 120W wired and 80W wireless charging. REDMAGIC has additionally announced a special Golden Saga Limited Edition with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The phone is currently available in China, while the company plans to announce global availability, regional configurations and pricing on November 3, 2026. The global model is expected to use the REDMAGIC 12 Pro name.
REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ Design and Display
The REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ continues the brand’s distinctive gaming-phone design, featuring a transparent rear panel, visible cooling components and RGB lighting. The phone is available in Deuterium Transparent Night, Deuterium Transparent Silver Wing and Deuterium Transparent Ice Blue finishes.
Its rear design includes a dual-ring liquid-cooling structure and a central RGB light ring, giving the device a more technical appearance than conventional flagship smartphones. The chassis measures approximately 8.55mm thick and weighs 223 grams.
On the front, the smartphone features a 6.85-inch BOE OLED display with a resolution of 2688 × 1216 pixels. Its standout feature is the 185Hz refresh rate, which is designed to deliver smoother motion in supported games. The display can also operate at 165Hz, providing another refresh-rate option.
The screen uses under-display camera technology, allowing REDMAGIC to avoid a conventional punch-hole cutout. The company says the bezels measure just 0.96mm, creating a nearly uninterrupted viewing area.
Other display features include 10-bit colour, 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, DC dimming and high-frequency PWM dimming. The panel also supports high touch-sampling rates, helping it respond quickly to player inputs.
However, the benefits of a 185Hz display will depend on whether individual games support the higher refresh rate. Most everyday applications will not take full advantage of the panel’s maximum capability.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Processor
Powering the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 mobile platform, manufactured using a reported 2nm process. The processor is paired with an Adreno 850 GPU and REDMAGIC’s dedicated Red Core R5 gaming co-processor.
The Red Core R5 handles selected gaming functions, including touch optimisation, lighting effects, frame tracking and display enhancement. By offloading certain tasks from the main processor, the system is designed to improve the gaming experience while managing performance and power consumption.
REDMAGIC claims an AnTuTu benchmark score of 5,670,006 and reports a 44% increase in GPU performance. These are manufacturer-provided figures, and actual performance will vary depending on software, temperature, testing conditions and the benchmark version.
The phone supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5T RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage in the regular configurations. The Golden Saga Limited Edition goes further, offering 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The hardware is intended for demanding mobile games, multitasking and sustained high-performance workloads. The device also supports ray tracing in selected games, alongside frame-generation and resolution-enhancement features.
REDMAGIC says its updated PC emulation platform supports features such as custom key mappings, Steam Workshop integration and achievement tracking. Compatibility and performance will depend on the specific game and emulator configuration.
Advanced Air and Liquid Cooling System
One of the most distinctive features of the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ is its ICE Magic Cooling System, which combines active fan cooling with a liquid-cooling arrangement and additional heat-dissipation materials.
The Wind Chaser 5.0 cooling fan can reportedly operate at up to 25,500 revolutions per minute. It is designed to move heat away from internal components during demanding gaming sessions.
The liquid-cooling system uses a dual-crystal micro-pump to circulate dielectric fluid through a dual-ring channel. REDMAGIC also employs a vapour chamber, liquid-metal thermal interface materials and graphene-based layers to help distribute heat.
This combination is intended to reduce thermal throttling, which can lower processor and graphics performance when a phone becomes too hot.
The cooling system is particularly relevant for gamers who play graphics-intensive titles for extended periods. However, real-world thermal performance will depend on ambient temperature, game settings, network conditions and how long the phone is used at maximum performance.
Cameras and Gaming Features
Although gaming is the main priority, the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ includes a dual rear-camera setup.
The primary camera uses a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.88 aperture and optical image stabilisation. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view.
For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 16-megapixel under-display front camera. Its placement helps preserve the uninterrupted display, although image quality will ultimately depend on the sensor and image-processing software.
The smartphone also includes capacitive shoulder triggers with a reported 700Hz touch-sampling rate. These can be configured as additional controls in supported games, giving players more input options without covering as much of the display with their fingers.
Other features include dual stereo speakers, DTS Ultra audio, three microphones, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
The device supports dual SIM connectivity, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and USB Type-C. It also carries an IPX8 water-resistance rating, although this rating does not establish protection against dust.
REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ Battery and Charging
The smartphone packs an 8,400mAh battery, one of its most notable specifications. The large capacity is intended to support long gaming sessions, video playback and everyday use between charges.
Charging options include 120W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging. The phone also supports bypass charging, which allows compatible power input to supply the system directly during gaming, helping reduce battery-related heat during extended sessions.
REDMAGIC has not established a universal real-world battery-life figure for every usage pattern. Actual endurance will depend on display refresh rate, game intensity, network signal and brightness settings.
REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ Price and Availability
The REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ is on sale in China in three standard configurations.
| Variant | Price in China | Approximate INR conversion |
| 12GB RAM + 256GB storage | CNY 6,999 | Rs. 99,395 |
| 16GB RAM + 512GB storage | CNY 7,999 | Rs. 1,13,595 |
| 16GB RAM + 1TB storage | CNY 8,999 | Rs. 1,27,795 |
These rupee figures are approximate currency conversions, not confirmed Indian retail prices. Taxes, import costs, regional specifications and distribution expenses could affect the final price if the device launches in India.
The Golden Saga Limited Edition features 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, but its pricing and wider availability have not yet been announced.
REDMAGIC will announce global pricing, regional configurations and availability details on November 3, 2026. Indian launch timing and pricing remain unconfirmed.
REDMAGIC 12 Pro+: What to Expect
The REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ brings together several features designed specifically for serious mobile gaming: a high-refresh-rate OLED display, a dedicated gaming processor, physical-style shoulder controls and an elaborate cooling system.
Its 8,400mAh battery and fast wired and wireless charging also make it an interesting option for users who prioritise endurance alongside performance.
The main questions are its final global pricing, software support and availability in India. Until those details are announced, buyers should treat the Chinese price as a reference rather than an indication of what the phone will cost locally.
If REDMAGIC delivers comparable hardware in its global model at a competitive price, the REDMAGIC 12 Pro could become a notable option for gamers looking for a specialised alternative to conventional flagship smartphones.
