Nothing’s CMF brand has expanded into portable audio with the launch of the CMF Speaker S and CMF Speaker M. The new wireless speakers combine distinctive geometric designs with practical features, including Bluetooth 6.0, IP68 dust and water resistance, customisable sound profiles and multi-speaker connectivity.
Announced on October 12, the two models target different listening needs. The CMF Speaker S is the more compact and affordable option, while the larger CMF Speaker M offers a more powerful audio setup with separate woofer and tweeter drivers. Both speakers also feature removable design elements, allowing users to customise their appearance.
CMF Speaker S and Speaker M: Price and Availability
The CMF Speaker S is priced at $59, while the CMF Speaker M costs $109 in the US. Both models are available in White, Turquoise, Dark Grey and Orange colour options.
Sales have started through Nothing’s online store and select retail partners. However, India-specific pricing and availability details have not been confirmed in the launch information, so buyers in India will need to wait for local announcements.
The pricing places the Speaker S in the entry-level portable Bluetooth speaker segment, while the Speaker M targets users looking for stronger output and a more capable audio configuration.
CMF Speaker S Specifications

The CMF Speaker S is the smaller model in the lineup. It features a custom-tuned 45mm full-range driver supported by two passive radiators, which are designed to improve low-frequency performance without requiring a separate subwoofer.
The speaker delivers up to 10W RMS output and has a stated frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz. This configuration is intended to provide a balanced listening experience for music, podcasts and everyday entertainment.
Despite its compact design, the Speaker S includes several features typically associated with more versatile wireless audio products. Bluetooth 6.0 provides wireless connectivity, while NFC tap-to-pair, Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair simplify connecting compatible devices.
The speaker can also maintain connections with two audio sources simultaneously, making it easier to switch between a smartphone and a laptop without repeatedly pairing devices.
CMF Speaker M Offers More Powerful Audio

The CMF Speaker M is designed for listeners who want higher output and improved separation between different parts of a track.
It uses a dedicated 25W woofer and a 10W tweeter, delivering a combined rated output of 35W RMS. Its stated frequency response ranges from 60Hz to 20kHz, extending slightly further into the low frequencies than the smaller model.
Using separate drivers for bass and higher-frequency sounds can help the Speaker M deliver a fuller presentation, particularly when playing music with prominent vocals, instruments and deeper bass lines.
Like the Speaker S, the larger speaker supports Bluetooth 6.0, NFC pairing, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair and dual-device connectivity. It also includes USB-C audio, allowing users to connect a compatible source through a wired connection rather than relying exclusively on Bluetooth.
Both speakers feature physical controls, including a tactile multifunction knob for adjusting volume and controlling playback. Dedicated buttons handle power, Bluetooth pairing and Auracast functions.
Battery Life, Charging and Water Resistance
CMF claims that both speakers can deliver up to 18 hours of playback on a single charge at 50% volume with Ultra Bass enabled. Actual battery life will vary depending on listening volume, audio content, connectivity and other usage conditions.
The company also says that a 10-minute charge provides approximately one hour of playback, offering a useful option when users need to recharge quickly before heading out.
Another important feature is the IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. This gives the speakers additional protection for outdoor use, although users should still follow the manufacturer’s guidance on water exposure and charging.
Together, the battery capacity, quick-charging claim and protection rating make the new models suitable for everyday listening at home, during travel or at outdoor gatherings.
Custom Sound Profiles and Multi-Speaker Connectivity

The CMF Speaker S and Speaker M use an adaptive tuning algorithm that analyses playback and adjusts output and equalisation in real time, according to the company.
Users can further personalise the sound through the Nothing X app. Available options include Ultra Bass mode, Wide Soundstage mode and four equaliser presets: Balanced, More Bass, More Treble and Voice.
For a more immersive setup, two identical speakers can be paired in Stereo Mode. The Speaker S and Speaker M cannot be mixed in this configuration, meaning users will need two units of the same model for left-and-right stereo playback.
Party Mode uses Auracast technology to synchronise audio across multiple compatible speakers. This can be useful for gatherings where listeners want music playing across a larger area. Compatibility will depend on the connected devices and supported Auracast implementations.
A Customisable Design Sets CMF Apart
Design is another major part of the new speaker range. Both models feature CMF’s expressive geometric styling, with a front-mounted control knob and a distinctive upper section that can be used for hanging the speaker.
The front panel and multifunction knob can be removed and replaced with alternative designs or colours. CMF also plans to release official design files, enabling enthusiasts to create custom parts using 3D printing.
This approach gives the speakers a degree of personalisation that goes beyond the usual choice of colour. It could appeal to users who want their audio equipment to match their desk setup, room décor or personal style.
Can CMF Speakers Challenge Established Brands?
The CMF Speaker S and Speaker M enter a competitive portable audio market, where battery life, durability, sound quality and connectivity all influence buying decisions.
The smaller Speaker S focuses on affordability and portability, while the Speaker M offers a more substantial driver arrangement and higher rated output. Features such as USB-C audio, Auracast support, custom equaliser settings and replaceable design components help both models stand out on paper.
Their real-world performance will ultimately depend on sound quality, battery endurance and reliability in everyday use. Still, the launch marks a significant expansion for CMF as it develops products beyond smartphones, earbuds and wearables.
With prices starting at $59, the new speakers give consumers two options within the same design-focused family. India pricing remains unannounced, but the CMF Speaker S and Speaker M could become interesting choices for buyers seeking distinctive-looking portable speakers with modern connectivity features.
