OnePlus 16 Launched With Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, 200MP Camera and 9,000mAh Battery
OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 16 in China, introducing a new flagship smartphone focused on performance, gaming, photography and battery life. The device features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, a 200MP primary camera and a massive 9,000mAh battery with support for fast wired and wireless charging.
The OnePlus 16 also brings a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz in supported games. With up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, the new flagship is designed for users who want high-end hardware for demanding applications and mobile gaming.
OnePlus 16 Price and Availability

The OnePlus 16 has been announced in China in three colour options: Starlight, Dark Forest and Martian Masterpiece. The company is offering multiple RAM and storage configurations, with the entry-level model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
According to the launch announcement, pricing starts at CNY 5,999 for the base variant, while the top-end configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage costs CNY 8,499. Open sales in China are scheduled to begin on October 31, 2026.
OnePlus has not confirmed an Indian launch date or official India pricing. Buyers should therefore treat converted international prices as indicative rather than expected retail prices.
185Hz LTPO OLED Display

One of the biggest highlights of the OnePlus 16 is its 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display, which offers a resolution of 1,272 x 2,772 pixels. The panel uses BOE’s X4 luminescent material and supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz during regular use.
The refresh rate can reach 185Hz in supported gaming titles, potentially delivering smoother motion and improved responsiveness. However, the maximum refresh rate is not available universally across every app or game.
The display also features extremely narrow 1.15mm bezels, creating a more immersive viewing experience. Hardware brightness can drop to as low as one nit, which may make the screen more comfortable to use in dark environments.
An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is integrated into the device, while a 50MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Powers the Phone
The OnePlus 16 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, positioning it as a premium option for gaming and demanding workloads.
The phone is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, giving users plenty of capacity for large games, photographs, videos and applications. The base configuration includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The combination of a high-end processor and a high-refresh-rate display should appeal particularly to mobile gamers. Nevertheless, actual gaming performance will depend on software optimisation, thermal management and whether individual titles support the display’s highest refresh rate.
The device runs ColorOS 17 in China. Its software experience and any potential international version may differ depending on the market.
200MP Triple Rear Camera System

Photography receives a significant hardware upgrade with a triple-camera system led by a 200MP primary sensor. The main camera uses a relatively large 1/1.4-inch sensor and an f/1.6 aperture, specifications that could help capture more detail and improve low-light performance.
The primary camera is joined by a 50MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide camera. This combination gives users separate options for detailed photographs, distant subjects and wider landscapes.
On the front, the phone features a 50MP selfie camera.
The camera hardware looks promising, but megapixel counts alone do not determine image quality. Image processing, stabilisation, lens performance and software tuning will also influence the final results.
Huge 9,000mAh Battery With Fast Charging

Battery capacity is another major highlight of the OnePlus 16. The smartphone packs a 9,000mAh battery, a substantial capacity for a flagship device.
The phone supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, giving users two ways to recharge the large battery. The actual time required for a full charge will depend on charging conditions, temperature and the compatible accessories being used.
The combination of a large battery and fast charging could make the OnePlus 16 attractive to heavy users who spend long periods gaming, streaming video, navigating or using mobile data.
However, battery endurance will ultimately depend on usage patterns. Running games at high refresh rates, for example, can consume more power than routine messaging or web browsing.
Design and Connectivity
The OnePlus 16 retains a premium flagship approach, with three colour options designed to give the device a distinctive appearance. Its narrow display borders and integrated fingerprint reader contribute to a modern hardware design.
The phone’s headline specifications place it firmly in the high-performance category, while the large battery gives it an advantage on paper over many conventional flagship phones.
For buyers considering an upgrade, the most notable improvements are the 200MP main camera, the unusually high display refresh rate and the expanded battery capacity. These features target users who prioritise gaming, photography and long periods away from a charger.
Will the OnePlus 16 Launch in India?
For now, the OnePlus 16 has been announced for the Chinese market, and OnePlus has not confirmed an official Indian release date or price.
Its eventual availability outside China remains an important question for prospective buyers. International pricing, software differences and local warranty support could all affect whether it becomes a compelling option in other markets.
With its powerful chipset, 185Hz gaming display, 200MP camera and 9,000mAh battery, the OnePlus 16 makes a strong statement in the flagship smartphone segment. Its real-world performance and camera quality will need to be assessed in testing, but its hardware specifications make it one of the more distinctive Android launches of October 2026.
