POCO X8s Launched With Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 120Hz AMOLED Display and 6,330mAh Battery
POCO has introduced the POCO X8s, a new smartphone designed for users who want flagship-inspired features in a relatively compact form factor. The device combines a 6.35-inch AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, a 50MP primary camera and a large 6,330mAh battery with 100W fast charging.
The latest addition to POCO’s X-series lineup focuses on balancing performance, battery life and everyday usability. While many smartphones continue to adopt larger displays, the POCO X8s takes a different approach with its smaller screen and lightweight construction.
The smartphone runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and includes features such as an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, IP68-rated dust and water resistance, and a versatile rear camera system. It is offered in two memory configurations, with global early-bird pricing starting at US$399.
However, POCO has not confirmed an official India launch date or Indian retail price in the available reports.
POCO X8s Price and Availability
The POCO X8s has been announced for global markets in two configurations.
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: US$399
- 12GB RAM + 512GB storage: US$499
The announced early-bird prices convert to approximately Rs. 37,900 and Rs. 47,400, respectively, before considering local taxes, exchange-rate changes and regional pricing adjustments.
These conversions should not be treated as official Indian prices. POCO has not confirmed how much the phone will cost if it launches in India.
The smartphone is available in three colour options: White, Blue and Black. Regional availability, retail offers and final pricing may vary depending on the market.
Compact 6.35-Inch AMOLED Display

One of the biggest highlights of the POCO X8s is its compact display. The smartphone features a 6.35-inch CrystalRes AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2656 x 1220 pixels, delivering a sharp 1.5K viewing experience.
The display supports an adaptive LTPO refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. This allows the screen to adjust its refresh rate according to the content being displayed, helping balance smooth scrolling with power efficiency.
POCO claims a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits under supported conditions. The panel also supports 12-bit colour depth, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision for compatible content.
Additional features include DC dimming, wet-touch technology and POCO Shield Glass protection. The company has also used symmetrical 1.18mm bezels to create a more immersive front design.
For users who find large smartphones uncomfortable, the smaller screen could make one-handed operation and everyday handling easier.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Powers the POCO X8s
The POCO X8s is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 mobile platform, manufactured using a 4nm process. The octa-core chipset reaches clock speeds of up to 2.8GHz and is paired with an Adreno 722 GPU.
The processor is designed to handle everyday multitasking, demanding applications, photography and mobile gaming. POCO has also included its 3D IceLoop cooling system, which features a reported heat-dissipation area of 4,497 square millimetres.
This cooling solution is intended to manage temperatures during extended gaming sessions and other intensive workloads.
The phone is available with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, alongside 256GB or 512GB of storage. It uses LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage, according to the official specifications.
On the software side, the device runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Its feature set includes 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and 6E support where available, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an infrared blaster and dual-SIM functionality. eSIM support depends on the market and carrier.
Triple Rear Camera With 50MP Main Sensor
Photography is another important part of the POCO X8s package. The smartphone features a triple-camera system on the rear, led by a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary sensor.
The main camera has a relatively large 1/1.55-inch sensor, an f/1.77 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS). These features are designed to improve light capture and help reduce blur caused by hand movement.
The camera system also includes a 50MP telephoto camera with a 57mm-equivalent focal length and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view.
The telephoto camera offers a different perspective for portraits and subjects farther away, while the ultra-wide sensor is useful for landscapes, architecture and group photographs.
The front camera is a 20MP unit designed for selfies and video calls. The rear camera supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second, while the front camera supports video recording at up to 1080p.
Actual image quality will depend on lighting, processing and software optimisation. Independent camera testing will be useful to establish how well the system performs in everyday conditions.
Large 6,330mAh Battery With 100W Charging
Despite its compact dimensions, the POCO X8s packs a 6,330mAh battery. The company uses silicon-carbon battery technology with a reported 16% silicon content to achieve higher energy density without significantly increasing the phone’s size.
The device supports 100W wired HyperCharge, allowing users to recharge the battery using a compatible charger. It also supports up to 22.5W wired reverse charging, which can be useful for powering compatible accessories or other devices.
POCO claims that the battery can support more than 24 hours of video playback under its stated testing conditions. Actual endurance will vary depending on screen brightness, network conditions, gaming, camera use and other factors.
The combination of a large battery and a relatively compact body could make the POCO X8s appealing to users who want long battery life without carrying a particularly large phone.
Premium Design With IP68 Protection
The POCO X8s measures 151.1 x 71.8 x 8.06mm and weighs 187 grams. It features a micro-curved aluminium frame, rounded corners and a colour-matched rear camera design.
The smartphone also carries an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. This certification indicates protection under specified laboratory conditions, although it does not make the device completely waterproof. Water resistance can also deteriorate with normal wear or physical damage.
For security, the phone includes an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock.
Other features include stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio support, Dolby Atmos and a USB Type-C port. Together, these additions give the phone a broader feature set beyond its processor and display.
POCO X8s: Should You Wait for Its India Launch?
The POCO X8s stands out by combining a compact 1.5K AMOLED display with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, a 50MP main camera, a dedicated telephoto lens and a 6,330mAh battery.
Its 100W charging support and IP68 rating further strengthen its hardware package. The phone could be worth watching for buyers who want a smaller Android smartphone without sacrificing battery capacity or premium features.
The biggest unanswered question for Indian consumers is pricing. The global early-bird prices provide a useful reference, but the final Indian price could differ considerably.
Until POCO confirms local availability, buyers should avoid treating the converted global prices as an official India launch price. Independent reviews will also help determine the phone’s real-world battery endurance, camera quality and sustained gaming performance.
Overall, the POCO X8s looks like an interesting addition to the compact smartphone category, with its final value in India depending largely on launch timing and local pricing.
